Please continue to check our website for continued updates with Humana contract negotiations between CentraCare Health and Fairview Health Systems. At this time we have just mailed a letter out to our Humana clients and have no update since the letter has gone out. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will update as more information becomes available.

Our agency has been working hard to make sure that no one is caught off guard when they hear that certain Medicare health plans will be terminated at the end of 2018, but there are only so many hours in the day! The Star Tribune has published a very informative article that goes in depth as to why this change is happening. This is a great resource for those of us wondering why this is happening now, and what to expect in the future.
As you may or may not be aware, there are some significant changes in Medicare health plan availability starting January 1st, 2019. Medicare Cost plans will no longer be available in the majority of counties in Minnesota. To help their members understand whether or not they are affected by this change, HealthPartners has created an FAQ page. The county lookup tool is a great resource that can tell you if you can keep your current HealthPartners Cost plan for 2019.
